Wadjemup (Rottnest Island)

Wadjemup, more commonly known as Rottnest Island (an "island of rats" in the opinion of an early Dutch explorer) . A rugged and rocky, windswept island just offshore from Perth. Summer time playground for suburban refugees, tourists, travellers ...

I've spent a lot of time working there with rental bikes so it's nice to unwind and enjoy it !

Stark Bay

Stark Bay's lurching peak caught me out a few times!
Some good barrels if you pick the right take off spot.

Surfers relaxing at Strickland Bay.
I know the feeling...

Near Strickland Bay - the long windy sand track that can dislodge even the maddest cyclists

Fish Hook Bay

Not surprisingly there are many submerged shipwrecks along the rocky coastline of this island

Lake Baghdad

Quokkas - certainly the biggest little tourist attractions off the metropolitan coast.
Some Japanese visitors may have tried to smuggle them off the island ...
