Jagged Steel

Shining steel fingers rise into the sky

Simple slender angular forms against deep blue and soft clouds

Like spirits rising up from all that is heavy or terrestrial

A release from the internal

Follow
ing the paths of shade skirting the towers that rise from the inner city sanctum

I pause for a moment to reflect on the shining forms above me

Across the street a small horde of photographers and journalists stands in a cluster on the steps of a court house hungrily waiting...

They seek words, images, pieces in a drama

I walk from time spent in the company of a confidante

And seek deliverance from such things

Momentarily observing this piece of urban theatre

A sobering metaphor for all the drama and conflict i created

Remembering now how much i hurt you

Barely grasping the fallout i have triggered

Hoping again for friendship

Sinking within

Questioning

Pondering absolution

Today now in this near cloudless dry sky

There is little that can obscure the emotions

Though from a certain viewpoint this is probably just a self indulgent cliché

Sculptural steel makes its jagged way into the sky
